This is for people in the know, who appreciate privacy and a certain level of exclusivity yet wanting a laid-back approach.

A new beach club that only opened this year in June and what a discovery this is. Supremely private and situated in what I call the best slice of Porto Heli. Offering refreshing cocktails, fruit, a medium sized food, and snack menu (The kitchen is finally open offering something more substantial) They have cleverly kept this beach as it should look, the trees (a signature in the Peloponnese) dominate the space and nothing is built as such. This I like as it doesn’t detract from the beach and beauty itself. No need to complicate it. You can reserve a sun bed on the first row, and this is exactly what I did here. Everything is reasonably priced with a strategy that works, and the food I am happy to say, is not a secondary to the surroundings.The waiter came to fill our table with water on ice, getting us in the mood to chill! The beach is not too busy, unlike in other beach clubs in the most popular areas where you struggle to even sit down squashed like sardines next to everyone else. It is chic, it is cool here, just purely beautiful, and relaxing. The crowd I have to say are civilised, with a mixture of all ages and backgrounds. This is for people in the know, who appreciate privacy and a certain level of exclusivity yet wanting a laid-back approach. You will not find the jet set here. They might be already partying in Mykonos!

As always when you are in such a beautiful place, the food can be very hit and miss, or nothing great at all. The beef skewers were tender, basic but working for this place. beefapollobeachThe barbecue sauce packed punch. I was particularly impressed with the chicken nuggets, because they didn’t taste as though they were taken straight out of the freezer and into the fryer. The sizes were all different and the bread crumbing on the outside was crisp and delicious, and the nuggets served hot, the chicken tender in the middle. It wasn’t bad at all. Then I took a pizza, and this was an important one to test, it was a Margherita, and the dough was crisp with some proper air bubbles, the toppings well balanced in ratio to the sauce. It came already sliced so you could tear and share. (I only ordered this for me but then found because of the size, it could be shared quite easily between 4 for example). At some point a giant bee with mammoth legs decided they wanted some of it too and followed the scent. Me trying to kick it out the way with my foot didn’t work so I ended up walking around with the pizza on its board trying to get away!Everyone staring at me in the process. A slight inconvenience but I can’t control the nature! I tried to eat it quickly and passed it around to share. No matter where I went it still followed me but not anyone else with their pizzas!! Typical, I was clearly the chosen one.

To bring the beach vibes, music was playing in the background, I wouldn’t say this is a place to bring a book for super peace and quiet nor for a boom boom party. It is somewhere in the middle, enough for some atmosphere but not overly loud where it becomes annoying. (Especially if the music is bad) The old age in me, what can I say!The people behind the club are friendly and welcoming, they can also hold a private event for you and your friends/family. You just need to enquire, and they will tell you everything you need to know. Everything here across the board has a big thumbs up from me and I will be back soon to say hello. Cheers guys.
