I love lunch, and exploring various places in the cities I visit is always an adventure. I walked past this, and I thought it looked inviting, so I decided the next day to go in. A warm, old school, Italian hospitality was prevalent here, white linen tablecloths, feeling typically milanese of a time gone past. I have my favourites in Milan and one of them being the risotto Milanese, I obviously had to take this, nothing else was going to get a look in. This place is known for it, and I put the restaurant to the test to see if it was going to be good… It was indeed. The rice was to the bite, perfectly al denté, the risotto was really creamy in texture with a good amount of saffron coming through, well balanced. The portion was much bigger than I would have liked on first glance but I didn’t seem to have a problem in the end making my way through it because it was addictive. I almost finished the whole plate, but not quite. For health I ordered some steamed vegetables on the side, they were like a portion for a family of four, very generous. I was also given some bread on the side and some little appetisers on top. This was more than enough food for one person!
This was a very quick lunch, and I am glad I popped in. I would return but since there are so many restaurants to try, I am likely to go to these first. If I find myself close by and need a place to go, I will come here without hesitation for some classic Milanese dishes.
