My hunt for a good lunch continues… I walked past this the other day and got chatting to somebody who told me that it has some positive feedback being new in the area. I then decided to go the next day to try it out. Firstly, the staff are truly kind and helpful, which is rare these days. The menu is extremely fair value for Beverly Hills, and it is all about the ‘curry.’ Their custom curry blend has about twenty-five spices in it, carefully measured, they are trying their best to preserve the taste of homemade Japanese curry. I took the chicken Katsu Kare-Japanese curry with crispy panko breaded chicken. The chicken was perfectly crisp as I was expecting it to be, this arrived with rice, shredded cabbage, and condiments. It does not look pretty at all, but the taste was satisfactory. A super pet hate of mine is when the curry is too cold. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm, and I was thinking it needed to be hotter before consumption. I received a free homemade cookie to take home with me which was a nice gesture.
I am sad to say that that there was something that did not agree with me from this meal despite the taste being ok, I noticed this further on in the day when I had an upset stomach. I do not know what it was for sure, but it left me feeling uncomfortable. It was a shame as I did not have a bad lunch.
