Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, and I had nothing but high praise for theirs at Terra The Magic Place last year. The fantastic menu is still the same and I even had the eggs as they were before. (You can read my first story by clicking on ‘take 1’ at the bottom of this page) Last year I do not know why but I completely missed the dining area especially for the breakfast- This year we sat where we were supposed to! The view outside was enchanting even with the darker clouds in the distance, and on our table was a miniature Christmas tree, still bringing that warm spirit in early January.
We managed to eat earlier this time, not at a brunching time of 12pm! They really look after you here with the choice and quality of the products offered. Everything is freshly made, product led and in the right hands. As like most breakfasts in hotels, there can be a lot of pointless items that you just will not ever eat but when you see the form to fill out to personalise your breakfast, you just want to tick everything on the list! I hate food waste, but this is a place where you want to sample and to try everything, even if you cannot eat it all. Do not go home without trying the spectacular biscuits either, a family recipe that made me think about them all the way back to London. (Still thinking about them now as I write this of course) They are special ones, which should always be part of their breakfast menu.
Our spread consisted of cold products, your choice of eggs, a vast array of different breads, jams, yogurts, hot beverages, and top level freshly squeezed juices. You could call this an elevated continental breakfast at heart but the with possibility to add-on what you feel like. For example, my guest requested some radish, so they bought this out, and alongside their butter, this was a perfect addition.

After returning for a second time, I am wondering if they will keep this breakfast the same or will it change? The thing is, it works, and they have nailed it, so is there any need? I always say though it is good to switch things up a little bit, especially as repeat guests. Let us see what happens… Heinrich and Gisela, a special thank you once again for an outstanding stay and we will continue to follow your journey in this culinary mountain paradise, your special place in the Dolomites.
