Nami Cafe

MO, Como Lake

"The service was attentive"

"The menu is small here consisting of pizzas, salads, and casual eats"

The Nami Café at MO Como Lake is the most casual place to eat in all the property. The weather for a Brit is still warm here in October, I am dining by the lake with a crisp chill in the air but enough for me to brave it. The view is glorious with the sun shining and the atmosphere is holiday like, low season but still looking like an ideal time to visit. The menu is small here consisting of pizzas, salads, and casual eats but today I decided to take the shrimp roll with salad. (I wanted to eat my body weight in chips instead but had to say no as I was going to the gym afterwards) It would have been so pointless.

The service was attentive, they remembered that we liked ginger shots and bought one over unannounced, this was kind, and real effort was being made to please. The shrimp roll arrived in a buttery brioche bun, the shrimp filling being a good amount mixed with a flavourful dressing with accents of julienne and chiffonade of salad to add contrast. And not forgetting those beautiful tomatoes. The salad came bare without any dressing enabling me to add olive oil and balsamic from the table to my liking. It was slightly odd with some good larger leaves on the top, and lettuce thinly sliced in the bottom. Either the chef thought “lets put a bit of everything in here” or “oops we have run out, let’s try and fill the bowl with something.” I am not sure which one it is.

After a while sitting here it was getting a little chilly, so I ate everything quite quickly. This place would be more suited to the summertime, but I was glad to be able to experience a little bit of outdoor dining at the end of October in Lake Como.
