Spirandreas

Ermioni

"Share, share, share"

"And I repeat: do NOT take a plate for yourself and count how many courgette fritters you ate when the bill comes."

10 August, 2025

I said that we would be back for “Take 2”, and here we are — this time for dinner. We truly captured the essence of Spirandreas through this meal; it was an authentic experience of Greek feasting. The dinner surpassed our lunch, and I can officially say the food was ten times better. The kitchen was on point tonight, and thankfully so, as I had guests who didn’t want to be disappointed! We never want that to happen when we eat out, but perfection unfortunately doesn’t exist. You have to take each encounter for what it is and make your own judgement — good or bad.

The views were already something during the day, but at night you are spoilt. Open‑air dining lets you interact with all your senses: the smell of the sea, the sound of gentle waves crashing against the shore. A subtle wind was present this evening, adding some welcome relief from the heat. This restaurant is such a pleasant space to be in, even before we begin to touch on the cuisine.

Let’s state a fact: the food is not complicated or confusing. You know what you’re going to get — and this is very welcome. But everything that arrived at the table was the best version of itself: a perfectly grilled halloumi with fresh tomato (a typical Greek appetiser), the “fried potatoes” which were some of the best we’ve eaten in terms of their “chips”, and marinated fresh anchovies that were exactly as described — fresh and enjoyable.

If you are new to eating in this area, the thing to do is order lots of appetisers (they are a meal in their own right) and maybe add a couple of main courses depending on how many people you’re dining with. Share, share, share. And I repeat: do NOT take a plate for yourself and count how many courgette fritters you ate when the bill comes. Everyone will frown behind their glasses and start wondering if you can be trusted… Nobody appreciates a scrooge at Christmas, let alone in the summer.

For us, there is always too much food because of the portion sizes — something we’re still trying to balance and get right. Next time… I always say. This is very subjective and will differ from person to person. Figure out what works for you but be warned: the plates are not small!

Thank you, Spirandreas, for a well‑rounded, thoroughly enjoyable night out. The food met the standard I would expect for this type of offering, and those all‑important views complement and make the whole experience work. It’s a keeper.

“Fulfilment lies in presence- Eat, experience, feel. Leaving the scoring, rating, and reviewing at the door.”
