Here is one of those places you should avoid on Spetses island. I am talking about a restaurant with a gorgeous setting outside, right on the sea, but completely let down by low‑quality food and poor preparation. I had a guest who didn’t react well to the meal—they felt unwell directly afterwards. That alone might be enough to tell you to stay away! I have a feeling it’s too late for this place anyway; even if they read this, things will carry on as usual, continuing to take advantage of tourists. The locals know better…
If you really don’t care about the food and just want the views, then yes, it is beautiful at night. You can gather your family around one of the best tables directly on the water on a warm August evening and ignore what’s going on around you—and potentially risk it. But that would be pointless and foolish. I wasn’t sure how to interpret the menu, nor could I tell what was fresh, frozen, or bought‑in, because I couldn’t identify any freshness, quality, or decent level of cookery.

The idea was to order many dishes and pass them around the table to share. The grape vine leaves were stringy and poorly prepared. The pitta bread could have come straight out of a plastic bag from the freezer. Everything tasted mediocre and lacked any delicious qualities. One of the protein cuts completely shocked me—it looked and smelled strange and was nowhere near acceptable to eat. We left it on the plate, perplexed at how the chef could let it leave the kitchen. The octopus was chewy, and the squid was inedible because it was far too tough.

We didn’t stay for dessert, but one was offered to us as we walked out. I said thank you but left it on the bar as we exited the restaurant. I was hungry on the walk back to the water taxi, wondering how I was going to get through the night. Everybody was quiet and didn’t have much to say about the food—we all knew it had been terrible. Then something worrying happened: my guest suddenly felt his eye flare up and began to feel sick, so we stopped by a pharmacy to try to get something to calm the reaction. That was his night ruined.
This is not a good restaurant. The food is bad, though the views are nice—but you’re not going there just for that, are you? I will never take anybody here again.
