I visited Niko Romito’s previous restaurant in 2024 and at that time it was in a high building with fantastic views of the Duomo. That unfortunately closed and now it has a new home at The Bulgari Hotel in Milan, featuring a bar with a buzzing and lively atmosphere. The service was friendly as well, as I perched onto a seat there, the bartender and I got into a conversation about cameras, as he noticed I had brought mine in for photographs. Clearly passionate as well about photography, and this was nice, it started the dinner off right. Surprisingly, there is no pretentiousness in the air here- the room might give off this impression, but it isn’t like this. For the record, I do not like to sit in places that are arrogant and unpleasant. There is also the main dining room, but we felt the bar was appropriate after our journey, opting for a slightly more relaxing evening.

We took a mixture of dishes between the two menus (Spazio, and  the bar) The menu for the restaurant itself, this time around, looked like it had been adapted for ‘hotel dining’ I didn’t completely notice the same style of dishes as before, but this was ok, because the food was good. One of the snacks looked the same, just served in a different setting. We took a mixture of everything from everywhere for variety. (After-all it is the spice of life) From the ‘bar bites’ we were impressed with the parmigiano, aged for 24 months. Some simpler dishes such as the blue fin tuna and tomatoes showed some acceptable products. Seriously simple but delivering. I often say that simple is best. (If you can get it right)

From the Spazio menu- The vitello tonnato was served and created in a unique way, it was delicious and not how you would expect to see it normally. It would be one dish to repeat. The prawn tartare, simple, clean showing once more top products, tasting great. A whole loaf of bread was served with our meal, a difference to his other place, and it was a good bake. Overall, it was a promising introduction to the food here.
